Respiratory Medicine department provides comprehensive consultation, evaluation and treatment of the entire spectrum of respiratory disorders. Daily Services are provided for OPD-Patients and In-Patients. Clinical interest of physicians include Lung Infections, Pulmonary Tuberculosis and Extra Pulmonary Tuberculosis, Occupational and Environmental Lung Disease, Pulmonary Vascular Diseases and Pulmonary Hypertension, Asthma and COPD, Sleep Apnea Syndrome, Sarcoidosis and Interstitial Pulmonary Fibrosis, Acute Respiratory and Chronic Respiratory Failure, Pulmonary Rehabilitation, Lung Cancers.

Facilities Available:

• Pulmonary Function Test Laboratory of the Department of respiratory medicine is equipped with the state of the art lung function test machine by which Spirometry, Lung Volumes measurement with the help of Body Plethysmography and Diffusion test can be evaluated.
• The Laboratory also has Tread Mill and Pulse Oxymeter by which pre and post exercise, pulse and oxygen saturation can be measured.
• The Department also has adult Fiberoptic Bronchoscope with video.

Services Available:

• Skin allergy testing for various 150 allergens for various allergic diseases.
• Bronchoscopy services include both diagnostic and therapeutic bronchoscopies.
• Transbronchial lung biopsy, subcarinal and transtracheal Wang needle aspiration cytology.
• Active advice and practical guidance to the patients of sleep aponea syndrome that is using CPAP machine and to the patient of chronic respiratory failure who are using BIPAP and non-inclusive ventilator at home.
